Frequently asked questions.

What is the turn around time?

We always say 24-48 hours after. Sometimes we can deliver faster, but it is harder to do so during the busier times of the year.

What do you need for the house to be ready?

We have a picture prep guide that can be downloaded for your and your clients. But the biggest things are simplifying the home by cleaning up clutter, routine dusting and cleaning, hiding toiletries, and removing pets and pet items if at all possible. Check out our page under Helpful Info called Preparing for Pictures for more information.

Do you work with home owners also?

I work for whomever hires me, whether it's a realtor or a home owner or a business owner. There are up and down sides for a home owner to hire the photographer instead of the realtor. The upside is that if the home owner should decide things aren't working out with their realtor, then they can pass the photos along to the next realtor without having to have the home reshot. But at the other-hand, you would be spending the money for pictures instead of the realtor. Either way it's a small investment if it means helping sell your home.

How do I schedule with you?

If you are an agent, we recommend using the Client Portal. If you have not created a profile yet, we recommend doing so. You can also text or email the info to us. If you are a home owner, or someone that will not likely be using us for repeat services, then I do not recommend using the Client Portal. Simply email us the basic information and we’ll go from there.

Do you offer walk-thru video tours?

This is a service that we outsource to a local videographer that we have partnered with. But due to the high volume we do daily, we don’t maintain the equipment and training to do this in-house.

I see you’re a UCAR member.  Are you a realtor?

No, I'm not a realtor. I'm strictly a photography service provider. I joined UCAR in order to gain both additional creditability and access to electronic lock boxes (ELBs). This is out of convenience so that agents and assistants do not have to make special arrangements simply to let us in to a home.

Who owns the pictures?

In short, the photographer owns the pictures per US Copyright laws. What you receive is a limited usage license. I recommend viewing our page covering this topic under the Helpful Info tab above.

Do you help with staging, or just photograph as things are?

It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure the property is ready for pictures. But I know that it's not always obvious to everyone what needs to be hidden and what doesn't, so I will move stuff periodically. But if a home is just jam packed with stuff, then it will be shot as is.

Are you licenses like agents, inspectors, and appraisers?

The Tennessee Photo Company LLC is fully insured in the case something accidentally was to happen while at a client's home. Feel free to request a certificate of coverage if need be. We are also a member of the Upper Cumberland Association of Realtors. Beyond that the photography industry does not provide licenses. Our work and reputation over the years stands solid.

Can you deliver images the same day as the photo shoot?

Due to the time required for downloading max resolution camera raw files, and then prepping and running them thru HDR processing software, it is not possible normally to deliver images the same day. The only exception would be if work load was very low for the day. Otherwise images are generally delivered the next day. If there's an emergency circumstance, let me know and I'll do what I can to process a select few images only first before all the rest for the day in order to accommodate.

Will my pets be a problems?

It is recommended to remove (or hide) anything pet related from the pictures, which would include the pets themselves. The problem for pictures with pets is because of the multiple slow exposures. Anything that moves during any one or more of those images will cause ghostly looks. So this not only includes animals, but things outside like fans and flags and chimes and such.

Do you retouch images?

Any retouching that is done is generally cosmetic, such as dirty mirrors, dirty walls, picture hangers on walls, etc. All our interior images are processed by a local professional retouched that we have partnered with. Some extras we do for free a TV screens, fireplaces, and sky replacements as needed. Beyond this, extra retouching fees will be added to your invoice.

Do you have to be licensed to fly a drone?

The FAA requires that anyone operating a drone for commercial use according to their definition must pass the Part 107 Knowledge Test to be a licensed drone operator. Plus registration of the drone itself as well. We meet this obligation back in November 2016, and in accordance with their requirements return to pass the recurrent test every two years thereafter. It is recommended that whomever you use for drone operations that they be in compliance with the FAA. This will keep both you and them out of trouble.

What People Are Saying

My clients have all been quite pleased with how the marketing materials turn out with the high quality photos you provide.

It is very valuable for you be a true professional when you are meeting with my clients. Everything that an agent does for the clients reflects upon the agent. It is very important that all referred services to our clients be a positive experience for them as well.

I will not use anyone else, because I don't want to risk a listing just to try something or someone new.
